My
Approach

Blending modern science with an understanding of the biochemical pathways underpinning the underlying cause of your symptoms.

Initial Consultation

In this visit we discuss your symptoms and health priorities. A copy of your most recent blood test will be required. From this information I work to connect the dots, taking into consideration the way in which each organ system impacts each other. This approach is not often utilised by Dietitians who do not consider themselves to be holistic, integrative or functional. A tailored treatment plan will be provided rather than stock standard handouts. This plan will also be provided to you via email after the consultation.

Review Consultations

In this visit we discuss any changes in symptoms and health priorities. The treatment plan and supplementation will be discussed. If supplementation is provided, a prescription to purchase the 'practitioner- only' products will be provided to you. The cost of each supplement will be below the recommended retail price. The number of review consultations will be determined based on your symptoms and complexity.

The definition of holistic shapes my practice. Holistic means:

  1. Emphasising the importance of the whole and the interdependence of its parts.

  2. Concerned with wholes rather than analysis or separation into parts.

When a condition or set of symptoms are looked at as a whole rather than in isolation, creating a nutritional treatment plan is more likely to reduce symptoms and achieve desired improvements. As an example, for someone with high blood sugar levels, it may be useful to look at how their digestive system is functioning. This is because poor digestion, bloating or constipation can lead to low energy levels, and that may be triggering sugar cravings raising blood sugar levels. Dietitians that utilise this approach use the terms holistic, integrative or functional.
